The Venus Rum cocktail has a light refreshing flavor, a nice fizzy quality, and double standard alcohol strength. It’s actually a rare combination, since most drinks featuring soda water use a lot of it, and consequently don’t have much of a kick. This particular drink reverses that ratio.

This cocktail goes well with a light meal or just before dinner. It’s great for unwinding.


Recipe
- 1 1/2 ounce white rum
- 1 ounce apricot brandy
- 1/2 ounce triple sec
- 1/2 ounce lime juice
- 1 ounce soda water
Put everything but the soda water into a cocktail shaker with ice, and shake thoroughly. Strain it into a chilled old-fashioned glass with cracked ice. Top it off with the soda, add a couple of skinny straws and garnish with fruit.
