Spooky Juice Drink Recipe

Pinterest Hidden Image

The Spooky Juice cocktail is a murky green cocktail that tastes mainly like orange with just a hint of berry. It’s obviously great for Halloween, but there’s no reason to save it for that occasion.

The flavor of this one is simple and easy to like. Its flavor is basically orange, thanks to the orange juice and the blue curacao.

The blue curacao is also what turns the drink this lovely, weird green color when it mixes with the orange juice. The recipe calls for just a dash of it, which is a measurement that’s hard to define. I may have used about a teaspoon, or close to it.

Since it’s not really going to change the flavor of the drink, I figured it was all about the color. My idea of a “dash” turned in a murky brownish green, so I decided to use enough to turn the drink a nice shade of green.

Speaking of dashes, the dash of grenadine adds a nice touch of berry flavor, but be sure not to go overboard with it. The red color in it turns green into a nasty, murky brown.

And it’s the visual effect that makes this drink memorable. There’s something vaguely unsettling about a drink that’s green and opaque, but tastes orange with a hint of berry.

This is a great drink for parties because you can whip up a big batch in a pitcher, keep it in the fridge and top off your guests’ drinks as needed.

You could garnish this drink, too, if you want. You could add an orange slice or spear a cherry and lay it across the top of glass.
