Road Streaker Drink Recipe
The Road Streaker cocktail isn’t as cloyingly sweet as you’d expect from glancing at the ingredients. Three liqueurs make up nearly two ounces of the drink.

But the other ounces are vodka and heavy cream, which cut the sweetness considerably. This is a great drink for when you want to enjoy the flavors of the liqueurs – creme de peche, frangelico and Tia Maria – without feeling like you’re drinking candy.
Tasting Notes
This drink is creamy and smooth, with a gentle nutty backbone from Frangelico and a soft coffee finish from Tia Maria or Kahlua. The peach liqueur brings a round fruitiness that feels sunny but not syrupy.
Vodka keeps the flavors clean and lets the liqueurs do the talking, while heavy cream makes everything lush and velvety.
The first impression is peaches and cream, just like the dessert. Then you get the hazelnut warmth from Frangelico, followed by the light coffee notes from the coffee liqueur. The texture is thick and silky, but not heavy as long as you shake it well.
Equipment & Glassware
Simple setup, but a couple of small upgrades help:
- Cocktail shaker: A metal shaker chills faster than plastic. Make sure it seals well for a hard shake.
- Jigger: You’ll want clean measurements to keep the balance right.
- Hawthorne strainer: Helps keep ice shards out of the final pour.
- Fine mesh strainer (optional): If you like ultra-smooth texture, double strain.
- Rocks glass: A short, weighted glass suits the drink and the ice.
- Ice: Use fresh, hard cubes. If your freezer makes cloudy ice, consider large-format cubes for slower dilution.
- Garnish tools: A sharp knife for a neat peach slice. If peaches aren’t in season, a thin orange peel works too.
When to Serve
This is a cozy drink. It’s great after dinner, served with shortbread, biscotti, or a simple butter cookie.
It also works very well at fall and winter gatherings and holiday parties. Try it with brunches and movie nights, too.
Which Liquor Brands to Choose
You don’t need top-shelf liqueurs for this drink, and that’s part of the fun.
Vodka: go with something clean and neutral like Tito’s, Absolut, New Amsterdam, or Prairie Organic.
Peach liqueur: you have some options here. Bols or DeKuyper Peach give it a brighter but possible sweeter note. Giffard Crème de Pêche gives a natural peach flavor with less candy sweetness.
Frangelico is the gold standard hazelnut liqueur. Other brands will also work well, but may be sweeter.
Coffee liqueur: Tia Maria is lighter and more coffee-forward, slightly drier, while Kahlua is richer and sweeter. Both work well. You could also try Mr Black, which has a much stronger coffee profile and is less sweet, but note you may need to use a bit less of it and add a about 1/4 ounce simple syrup to get the sweetness back.
Cream: Heavy or double cream gives the silkiest texture. If you find it too rich, try half-and-half. For non-dairy, try a vegan creamer like Silk Milk’s heavy whipping cream.
