The Ranger features rum and gin with lemon juice and a little bit of gomme syrup or simple sugar. The main flavor of it is a lot like lemonade, with the herbal notes from the gin getting pushed pretty far back in the distance. Rum and gin is an interesting combination. I recommend Hendrick’s gin for any recipe that has citrus notes, because it has bright notes of its own to enhance that flavor.
This is a pretty simple, old-style drink. It’ll go with nearly any meal, but pairs especially well with meals you’d serve white wine with – seafood, chicken, risotto and so on.
