The Mumsicle is straight liquor, except for a dash of angostura bitters. Specifically, we’re talking about dark rum and a touch of bourbon.
The rum smooths out the rough edges of the bourbon (if you’re using a bourbon that’s already perfectly smooth, you’re wasting good bourbon on a cocktail), and the bourbon livens up the rum. It’s a nice choice for the end of day or a nightcap.
- 1 1/2 ounces dark rum
- 1/2 ounce bourbon
- 1 dash of Angostura bitters
Fill a mixing glass halfway with ice cubes. Combine all the ingredients in it and stir well. Strain the mixture into a cocktail glass and garnish with a maraschino cherry.
