Montreal Club Bouncer

The Montreal Club Bouncer cocktail is incredibly simple, featuring gin and Anis, which is a form of anisette. It tastes like black licorice with hints of citrus.

If you can’t stand the flavor of black licorice (like me, unfortunately), you probably won’t like this drink. But if you like it, it’s a really intriguing little drink. The licorice note isn’t overwhelming. This is definitely a drink that will benefit from a better quality gin, so I recommend at least something on the level of Sapphire.

Recipe

  • 1 1/2 ounces gin
  • 1/2 ounce Anis

Fill an old-fashioned glass with ice cubes. Pour in both ingredients and stir.
