The Monkey in a Tree is supposed to be a golden cocktail with a layer of green Midori floating on top, or a golden cocktail with the Midori at the bottom like a sunrise effect. But it all depends on the brands you use for the other ingredients. Sometimes it just all mixes together.

But that’s the thing about layered cocktails – fortunately, they don’t taste any different when you stir everything up instead! This one is wonderfully tropical – all pineapple, banana, coconut and melon.

Recipe
- 1 1/2 ounces Malibu rum
- 1/2 ounce creme de banane
- 1/8 ounce grenadine
- Pineapple juice
- 1/2 ounce Midori
Mix everything but the Midori in a collins glass. Pour the Midori straight down the middle. Or you can just blend it all together. Garnish with a pineapple wedge and serve with a stir stick.
