Miami Beach

The Miami Beach is probably not what you’d expect from the name. At least, none of its ingredients are associated with Miami or beaches as far as I know.

But who cares? This is an intriguing drink that features scotch with dry vermouth and grapefruit juice. The dominant note is citrus, and a very refreshing brand of it (I actually prefer white grapefruit juice, but you can try it with Ruby Red), but there are also notes of fruit and oak in the background.

Recipe

• 1 ounce scotch
• 1 ounce dry vermouth
• 1 ounce grapefruit juice

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add all ingredients. Shake until chilled and strain into a martini glass.
