The Favorite Cocktail cuts apricot brandy with dry vermouth, gin and lemon juice. The tang of those ingredients turns a cloyingly sweet brandy into something palatable.
The apricot note in this drink is strengthened by the citrus from the lemon juice. It’s still a fairly sweet drink, as you’d expect with anything involving apricot brandy. This drink is for when you want something less sweet and frou-frou than a Sex on the Beach, but more so than a traditional gin martini.
- 3/4 ounce apricot brandy
- 3/4 ounce dry vermouth
- 3/4 ounce gin
- 1/4 teaspoon lemon juice
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the ingredients. Shake until chilled, strain into a cocktail glass and serve.
