I make my living as a blogger, so MixThatDrink makes money in several ways, and I have you to thank for it. Unlike most large corporate websites, TV commercials, and especially magazines in which virtually every “article” is really just an ad but they don’t tell you, I want to be transparent with you about how it works.
- Display Ads. You may have heard that websites only make money if you click the graphic banner ads appearing in sidebars or along the top or bottom. This is not entirely true. Most of MixThatDrink’s ads earn the site fractions of a penny every time you load a page, regardless of whether you click.
- Affiliate Links. If an article contains a link to a product on another website, it may be an affiliate link. If you click those links and end up purchasing anything, I get a small commission. This is all at no cost to you.
I do not write posts/reviews for cash. I occasionally receive a product sample to review, such as a liquor or a bartender tool. In these posts, I clearly state what I received for free and that no actual money changed hands. These reviews are completely honest, because your trust is worth more than any sample product or even paid review could be. If I ever choose to do a paid review, I’ll also disclose everything within that article – and still, I will be 100% honest. If a company has a problem with that, I wouldn’t want to work with them again anyway.
I will update this page if and when anything changes. Thanks for reading, and for being a loyal visitor to MixThatDrink!
