Easy Appletini Cocktail Recipe
The Appletini recipe is an apple vodka martini cocktail with a delicious sour apple flavor. This is the simplest version of it, and it tastes fantastic!
You’ll find many different recipes for the Appletini if you look. This isn’t an old classic cocktail recipe that’s been honed to perfection over the decades.
It’s fairly modern and everyone likes to put their own twist on it, and so can you. This version is the easiest version out there with just three ingredients.
The Basics of the Appletini
It’s really a matter of taste. Some recipes call for no sour apple schnapps at all. Others use flavored vodka.
Feel free to experiment, but here are the basics of what you need:
- Something with a strong, clear apple flavor
- Something sweet
- Something sour
- Vodka
Fresh Apple Juice or Apple Liqueur?
This is where recipes differ. Some use apple juice. The original recipe, as far as I know – and this is the one I’m sharing – was simply DeKuper Sour Apple Pucker, vodka and sweet and sour mix.
The only way I’m getting fancy is by suggesting you make your own homemade sour mix. It will shock you how much better it is than the bottled stuff from the store.
Adjusting Sweet and Sour Balance
Feel free to play with the ratios of ingredients in this cocktail. Adding more sour mix makes it more sour. Adding more vodka dilutes the flavor if you find it overwhelming.
A touch of sweetness can elevate the taste of your Appletini. Consider adding a sweetener such as simple syrup or a flavored syrup to enhance the overall flavor profile. Be mindful not to overdo it, as you don’t want the sweetness to overpower the apple and vodka flavors.
Appletini Cocktail Recipe
The ultimate Appletini recipe combines vodka, sour apple schnapps, and homemade sweet and sour mix for a vibrant, tangy apple martini.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 ounces homemade sweet and sour mix
- 1 1/2 ounces Sour Apple Pucker
- 1 1/2 ounces vodka
- Garnish with Granny Smith green apple slice
Instructions
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Pour all ingredients into the shaker.
- Shake vigorously until well-chilled.
- Strain the mixture into a chilled martini glass.
- Garnish with green apple slices.
