Alcohol starts evaporating at a lower temperature than water does, so you'd kinda be defeating the purpose of making this and ending up with less of a less potent product. Wasn't even too bad with peppermint schnapps- not that good, yet drinkable. Other then that , I wouldn't see why any white liquor wouldn't work if you don't have vodka. The amount of time, plus the PRECISE amount of each ingredient you would be adding would be an exponential amount of time of which i'm sure you don't want to wait. It's the same exact logic as getting your own BeerBatch to make. Also, Vodka isn't necessarily just made with Yeast, Sugar and Water. Certain wines can be made from other ingredients as well. Vodka is one of the few liquors that's made differently. Trust me, you don't want to try to do this unless you know exactly what your doing. Having someone cooked at the wrong temp, or for the wrong amount of time will give you a nasty result and you will not be pleased. Do research, get the materials, and it's completely possible.
