Godmother

Here’s a tasty, elegant cocktail anyone can make – The Godmother. It’s got plenty of flavor and kick – all vodka and amaretto – and the only bartender skill you might want is the ability to strain. And if you really can’t be bothered, you can just leave the ice in (in fact, many people prefer it). This drink is strong enough to take it.
The Godmother
- 2 ounces of vodka
- 1 ounce of amaretto
Stir your ingredients in a mixing glass with ice; strain into a highball glass. Or just pour it over the rocks.
Lightly sweet
The amaretto goes wonderfully with lightly sweet desserts and pastries. Try it with one of the following:
- Chocolate croissant – easier to make than you might think
- Bear claw – this recipe gives you a choice of almond paste or cream cheese filling
- Vanilla custard – sometimes simple is best
